Ewange is new president of KAVC

ALEX Bob Ewange has been picked unopposed as the new president of Kampala Amateur Volleyball Club (KAVC). The veteran player took over from Dick Muhwezi at the KAVC annual general meeting at Lugogo on Sunday.

ALEX Bob Ewange has been picked unopposed as the new president of Kampala Amateur Volleyball Club (KAVC). The veteran player took over from Dick Muhwezi at the KAVC annual general meeting at Lugogo on Sunday.

Apart from the club’s secretary Mofaht Masaba and players' representative (men) Amon Ainebyona, who retained their positions the rest on the executive are new faces.

Florence Nanyondo replaced Rahma Masagazi as vice president while Alice Oketcho Gitta came for Irene Kuloba Kiconco as manager women.

Peter Buyungo is the new men’s manager replacing Bob Mutebi while Josephine Namanda took up the place Hilda Sekabira occupied as women players’ representative.

Ewange said his immediate task is to ensure National League winners KAVC women’s team goes for the Africa Club Championship in Nairobi in April. The championship qualifies clubs for the World Volleyball Cup.

KAVC will represent Uganda by virtue of winning the 2008 national championships and the league.
