IT was a frustrating result for SC Villa as they battled URA yesterday, with the only consolation being that the draw was good enough to put them top of the table.

Villa fans turned their frustration on match referee Ronnie Kalema after the match, accusing him of bias. They hurled objects at him and chased his team of referees, who ran into the dressing room for safety.

Earlier, striker Godfrey Luutu missed an empty net as SC Villa failed to get the three points in a soccer game they dominated at Namboole stadium.

The winger got the clearest of scoring chance from a well executed Steven Bengo pass, beat URA goalkeeper Abbey Dhaira, but shot wide when it was easier to score.

Villa coach Sula Kato substituted him for Andrew Nkurunungi but the club’s fortunes did not change.

At Kakyeka stadium, Twaha Sendi’s second minute strike ensured Nalubaale suffered their fifth loss –– a 1-0 defeat by home side Mbarara United.

At Maroons stadium, Abbey Kavuma, Kassim Kasawuli and Asad Makibwe’s goals gave Maji a 3-1 victory over struggling Lira-based side Youfra.

The league continues today with title favourites KCC hosting Boroboro while Simba travel to Iganga.

KCC striker Brain Umony gets a chance to turn his scoring skills against local opponents after a brilliant CECAFA Challenge Cup where he was top-scorer with five goals.

In the opening game of the second round on Saturday, Police hammered hapless Sharing 4-1 at Nakivubo stadium.
