The Police, journalists and street children on Thursday demonstrated against child trafficking and sacrifice that have become rampant in Lango. The chief walker was Peter Odongo of Loro sub-county in Oyam district, who lost his son last week to kidnappers. The demonstration, part of the Peace Week, was organised by Facilitator for Peace and Development, a charity organisation.
Carpenter shot dead

Three unidentified men on Sunday night shot dead a carpenter. The district deputy criminal investigations officer, Paul Omara, said the assailants stormed the home of John Salongo at around 1:00am. Omara said Ssalongo’s wife, Zulaikha Alumu, first denied her husband was around before she was held at gunpoint, which forced her to make an alarm. Omara said Salongo was shot as he tried to rescue his wife.
