Kampala Mayor Nasser Ssebaggala has commissioned repair works for Allen Road.
Kampala City Council (KCC) contracted Zzimwe Construction to do the repairs, the spokesman, Herbert Ssemakula, said.
The poor state of the road situated between Shauri Yako Market and the New Taxi Park in down-town Kampala had forced commuter taxis to drop passengers on Nakivubo Road.
“This is one of the many roads, which badly needed repair.
“We shall embark on the other roads in the near future,†Ssemakula said on Tuesday.
The repair of the road will also be a relief to shopkeepers in Shauri Yako and Gagawala Plaza.
