Mbale starts strongly; Kakungulu games rescheduled

MBALE Heroes started their Uganda Super League comeback fight by mauling Busia’s Red Tigers 6-0 in the Zone 2 action at Mbale Municipal ground yesterday.

MBALE Heroes started their Uganda Super League comeback fight by mauling Busia’s Red Tigers 6-0 in the Zone 2 action at Mbale Municipal ground yesterday.

Ediofe Hills and Arua Central also advanced to the quarterfinals of the Zone 4 league taking place in Arua. The preliminary action was due to end yesterday.

Heroes’ Sammy Mumero registered a brace with Amuza Musiwa, Joseph Kusimba, Benivo Ayub and Micheal Kawooya joining efforts in the goal fete.

In the Zone 7 finals, former Super League outfit Masaka LC was stopped by district post primary schools champions Masaka SS in the final after a penalty shootout.

Seven of the 13 zones had finished their leagues by yesterday.

Meanwhile, FUFA has rescheduled the Kakungulu Cup semifinal matches, to pave way for the national team’s friendly match against Sudan.

The move had the first leg pushed ahead by a week, to allow the clubs release the players for the international enagement this week.
