Blind games on
ATHLETICS-Apac has fielded a strong team of 60 athletes in a bid to dethrone Arua as the national primary school blind games get underway at Kyambogo University sports ground today. The northern region team was the first team to arrive in Kampala yesterday for the four-day meet that will involve competition in athletics, cricket, goal ball and sound table tennis. Over 30 teams are expected in the event, according to the Uganda Blind Sports Association chairman Francis Kinubi.

SOCCER-Lindsey Wilson College menâ€™s soccer head coach Ray Wells has promised to help talented soccer stars get scholarships in American universities. He also promised sports equipment including balls, bibs, nets, shoes among others to Uganda Youth Soccer Academy. Wells, who paid a visit to the academy training at the Buganda Road ground, was impressed by the talent he saw. He advised them to put emphasis on studies in order to gain from the scholarships.
