ARUA Municipality MP Akbar Hussein Godi has applied for bail again.
Godi, represented by Norris Maranga and Sam Njuba, argued that being released on bail was his right.

He also cited grave illness without mentioning the sickness as he did in the previous application.

John Arutu, the High Court deputy registrar, is yet to allocate the application to a judge for hearing.
Godi is accused of murdering his wife, Rehema Caesar Nasur, on December 4, 2008.

According to the Police, Rehema was shot dead on the Mukono-Kayunga road and her body dumped near Mpoma Satellite Station.

Godi argued that the people of Arua municipality were being denied representation because of his continued detention.

He further argued that he had eight dependants, who suffered due to his absence.

In an affidavit, he said he would not interfere with the investigations.
Principal State Attorney Alice Komuhangi on February 18, opposed Godi’s bail application on grounds that he would jeopardise investigations.
