SHOPPING can be fun for shopaholics, but for the average person, the task of shopping, especially for gifts, can be a daunting task. Here are a few tips to help you breeze through your next gift shopping experience:

The list
Before you think of leaving home or going to the bank, make a list of all the possible items you want. Then call up someone you know is crazy about shopping and ask them where you can get particular items. Note those places against the different gift items on your list.

Choosing gifts
Accessories make good gifts for friends and family for special occasions like birthdays. Things like trendy sunglasses, classic watches, fun hats and jewellery make excellent choices.

Budget shopping
Shopping on a budget does not mean you cannot get something stylish. Maximise your expense by looking out for shops with items on sale, or places where you know you can exercise your bargaining power. If you are not good at bargaining, ask someone you know is, to go with you.

Splurging a little
Sometimes, the person you are thinking of buying a gift for is close to your heart and you want to fork out a little extra cash to spend on them. That is all good because you will find something a lot more durable that the person can wear (or use) often and one that will last a long time. In that case, it is definitely worth spending some extra money. Here are some terrific options for times when you want to save and also when you want to splurge.
