Man lynched over murder
TORORO-A man was lynched by a mob on Sunday after he hacked his step-mother to death with a panga. Martin Idama Osama of Mailo Mbili zone, attacked Nelima Edina in Molo sub-county in her kitchen as she prepared food. Osama’s son, Samanya Dungu, alerted the neighbours, who arrested him. The district criminal investigations chief, David Wamunyerere, said Edina had four deep cuts in the fore head and the left hand. Wamunyerere said the victim was rushed to a nearby health centre but she died due to excessive bleeding.
Court annuls LC judgement
TORORO-The chief magistrate, Moses Angualia, has nullified a judgement by Merikit sub-county land board on a disputed piece of land separating Merikit and Paya sub- counties. Angualia said the court made the ruling in disregard of the Local Council Courts Act.
