SHE speaks French, wears French perfume, her son has a French name, Jean, she likes the French president, Nicolas Sarkozy and often “googles” France to see baby names but she has never been to France!

However, her dream came true when SN Brussels Airlines’ general manager, Pierre Declerck, picked her Paris trip winning e-mail in a raffle at Sanyu FM. Barbara Nanono of Infocom was the ideal candidate, Declerck says.

“I am happy the winner is a lady and one who likes France,” he told journalists and listeners. Now in its fifth year, the month-long promotion dubbed “Get Your Boss out of Town,” is about relieving bosses of their stressful schedules.

Company employees send e-mails stating why their bosses deserve the all- expenses paid trip to a beautiful destination.

Nominated by Grace Otega, an office sales executive at Infocom, Nanono was among hundreds of nominated bosses including some from New Vision.

Betsy Mugamba, Sanyu FM’s general manager, said only 35 e-mails were eligible. “Others lacked company names or didn’t indicate the senders’ names so they were ruled out,” she said.

Sanyu FM and Brussels partnered with Marriott Hotels who will accommodate Nanono.

Marriott’s regional sales manager Brenda Salira said they chose Paris because it is the world’s romantic city.
