Mob hacks men over cattle thefts

Residents of Mansa village, Wabwoko sub-county in Kayunga district lynched two men suspected to be cattle thieves. The Saturday morning incident occurred after residents mounted an operation to search for people who terrorise the area.

Residents of Mansa village, Wabwoko sub-county in Kayunga district lynched two men suspected to be cattle thieves. The Saturday morning incident occurred after residents mounted an operation to search for people who terrorise the area.

During the operation, they discovered that the suspects were in possession of a cow said to have been stolen from Wilson Muyinda of Kiyagi village the previous night.

Musa Musoke, 40 and Mayanja Waluleeta, 31, both residents of Namulaba, were beaten before being hacked.

Efforts by the Police to rescue the suspects were futile as they reached the scene late and the mob leaders had escaped.
