A man who battered his wife to death for failing to prepare his lunch on time has been sentenced to 12 years in prison.

A man who battered his wife to death for failing to prepare his lunch on time has been sentenced to 12 years in prison.
George Odeke, a resident of Amagoro central zone in Tororo district, on Monday admitted that he battered Betty Florence Amase to death two years ago.
Odeke had earlier been charged with murder, but the sentence was reduced to manslaughter after he pleaded guilty.
“The convict’s actions led to the death of his wife for no serious cause,†Justice JK Muhanguzi ruled.
The couple had three children.
