FIVE Pentecostal churches yesterday denounced Pastor Solomon Male, arguing that he lacks authority and does not own a church.
The churches, under four Pentecostal groups, said the allegations made by Male against fellow pastors were lies meant to destroy rival churches. Male is leading a campaign against homosexuality in religious institutions.
He has accused Pastor Robert Kayanja of the Miracle Centre of sodomy and has gone out of his way to try and prove the allegations.
“We denounce Solomon Male of Arise for Christian Ministry; he is not a pastor, nor a disciple or believer of any known congregation,†said Joseph Serwadda, the chairman of the umbrella group, in a press briefing in Kampala.
The statement, signed by pastors Julius Peter Oyet, Godfrey Luwagga, Ambrose Gidudu, Osborn Mayanja, David Mukoko and Aloysius Bugingo, called Male “an impostor, destroyer, liar and accuser of brethren who speaks without authorityâ€.
Oyet argued that Male runs an NGO and not a church. When contacted, Male said he does not need to own a church to comment on the victims who suffer in the hands of church leaders.
