Over 1,000 invited guests gaped in disbelief at the massive expanse of tycoon Sudhir Ruparelia’s new Kampala International School in Bukoto last Thursday. And who could blame them?
The modern complexes that dot the place, the concrete walk ways that snake through neatly mowed lawns all help accentuate the beauty of the place. The landscaping is mind-blowing.
This was the official opening of the complex and the launch of Crane Bank Credit Card. Gates were flung open to the guests by 5:00pm and ushers were on hand to guide us on a tour of the splendid complex. Members of the Burundian Troupe, were positioned in several corners of the complex to do just that – entertain.
Bank of Uganda Governor, Emmanuel Tumusiime, presided over the function that attracted senior government officials and prominent members of the business community.
Crane Bank boss Ali Kalan said, “We saw a gap in the credit card segment and sought to introduce the product.â€
He said the credit cards are accepted globally in over 26 million outlets with a VISA sign.
Mutebile said the card would enable especially the business community to travel with less money and avoid robbery.
