YOU can cut your garden maintenance expenses by buying handy tools. The garden tends to be a burden, especially during the rain season, when the lawn needs a cut every other week.
Stephen Kyewalabye, a hardware dealer in Kampala, says a push lawn mower comes in handy. The two common mowers are the manual and the fuel engine.
The manual is certainly the most environmentally- friendly, but may be unrealistic if you have a very large compound. Unlike the manual ones, the engine mower does not require a lot of energy. It is a matter of filling it with fuel and within minutes, you have a well-cut lawn.
However, today, new technology is bringing us improved mower versions. Battery-powered mowers are increasingly becoming practical.
The price for the push mowers ranges from sh200,000 and above. It can be bought in supermarkets and hardware shops around Kampala.
