6.00am: I’ve just woken up. Camp is truly bouyant now. [Ibra] Sekagya came in last night. Now we wait only for David [Obua].
8.15am: The coach had to alter his deadline since the breakfast was delayed today. Not that I’m complaining! I had sausages, an egg and bread. I felt it was worth the delay. Huh!
10.00am: Since breakfast delayed, so did training! Quite a crowd of fans was there to see us. They cheered our every touch — even mine. And I’m a defender! [Just kidding].
11.30am: Training started late, so it ended late. Ah, now I’m ‘complaining.’ 12.30pm: Sponsors MTN asked us to unveil jerseys to the press. I was among the chosen ‘models.’ The jersey looked cool on me.
At least I thought it did!
2.00pm: The lunch came late too. Maybe it’s why I changed my seating partners. Sat with Hannington [Kalyesubula] and Dennis [Onyango]. Changed my diet too. Had a bit of this and that — rice, matooke, greens, fish and “Papu†[J’burg slang for Posho]. 4.15pm: Predictable I know, but I had my siesta. Old habits do die hard, I guess. Now, training calls.
