CENTENARY Bank is to construct a new head office worth $14m (sh25b).

The bank’s new home, which will be called Mapeera House, will be on Plot 44-46 Kampala Road opposite the Constitutional Square. It will have eight floors.

A contract for construction of the project was signed between the bank’s board chairman, Prof. Ddumba Ssentamu, and Roko Construction Company’s chairman Rainer Koehler at Centenary Bank’s offices on Entebbe Road in Kampala.

“Mapeera House will be spacious with modern banking facilities that will ease congestion at Entebbe Road arising from our ever-growing loyal clientele and help us to offer a conducive banking environment,” Ddumba said.

He urged the contractors and consultants to take all possible measures to ensure that construction progresses smoothly so that the project is completed on schedule using the planned funds.
Ddumba said the work is expected to take 13 months.
