EDITOR—The map of Uganda published in your issue of Tuesday showing the districts affected by floods is very informative. I however have an issue with the location of Bukedea district which was curved out of Kumi in 2005/2006.
EDITOR—The map of Uganda published in your issue of Tuesday showing the districts affected by floods is very informative. I however have an issue with the location of Bukedea district which was curved out of Kumi in 2005/2006.
As shown in the map, Bukedea district borders Tororo, Butaleja, Mbale, Manafwa, Kenya and Busia. Anybody from Bukedea district will tell you that the districts neighbouring Bukedea are Kumi, Kapchorwa, Sironko, Mbale and Budaka and it is not located where it is as shown in the map.
If your map was to be used for service delivery to Bukedea it would be misleading and target wrong beneficiaries. So while our vision is to have many districts, the mapping department in Entebbe should correctly map out and locate districts in right locations to avoid confusion. David Engwau Gulu
