POSTBank has given out 80 motorcycles worth sh160m to bobaboda cyclists in Makindye Division on a loan basis. Moses Byaruhanga, the presidential assistant on political affairs, handed over the motorbikes to the beneficiaries through Vision Love, the company that monitors bodaboda operations in the division.

Byaruhanga advised the cyclists to ensure that they use the roads responsibly and meet their financial obligations to avoid emberassment and other inconveniences.

“PostBank has so far given out over 500 bodaboda motorcycles in Makindye. There are over 104 bodaboda stages in the area, but more are needed as there is a lot of demand,” he said at Wabigalo Community Centre.

Byaruhanga said giving out the bodabodas was part of the Government’s commitment to reducing poverty.

He said the beneficiaries should not misuse the opportunity because this would deprive others a chance.
The repayment period for the loans is one year. The cyclists have to remit the money to Vision Love.
