Ponsiano Lwakataka to hit rally route first

PONSIANO Lwakataka will hit the road first as he chases the 2007 National Rally Championship in the UMOSPOC Challenge rally tomorrow. Lwakataka will be pursued by Jas Mangat (Subaru) in the single leg rally that will cover Kampala, Wakiso and Luwero districts.

PONSIANO Lwakataka will hit the road first as he chases the 2007 National Rally Championship in the UMOSPOC Challenge rally tomorrow. Lwakataka will be pursued by Jas Mangat (Subaru) in the single leg rally that will cover Kampala, Wakiso and Luwero districts.

Runaway championship leader Lwakataka needs just 30 points to capture the title, his second in a seven-year career.

Bob Roberts (Mitsubishi Evo4) and Front Page Microfinance-sponsored Susan ‘Super Lady’ Muwonge will be third and fourth on road respectively.

The fifth national event has attracted 20 entrants. Their cars will be checked today at 2pm at Petro Old Port Bell road before flag off at Emerald Hotel tomorrow at 8am.

Simba Telecom, Jomayi, Emerald Hotel, GM Batteries, Petro Old Port Bell road, Studio One, Highland Dishes, Alps Internet Café and Fire and Safety Appliances are sponsors of the event.
