KAMPALA
The National Community of Women Living with HIV/AIDS has re-elected Apofia Naikoba as chairperson for the second term. During elections presided over by Maxensia Takirambule, Nancy Akumu was elected vice-chairperson, Martha Were, the treasurer and Joyce Tibaijuka, the mobiliser. Naikoba promised to continue assisting women living with HIV/AIDS to become self-reliant.

Man dies in sand quarry
MUKONO
A man died instantly after the wall of a sand quarry collapsed and buried him. The incident occurred at Katuba village, Nakisunga sub-county recently. The district Police commander, James Aurien, identified the deceased as Julius Wasswa. His colleagues told the Police that the wall collapsed on Wasswa as he excavated sand in the quarry.
