AKAGERA Aviation Services Company, a Kigali-based carrier, is to provide subsidised charter services to the Rwanda exhibitors at the Uganda Manufacturers Association (UMA) trade show.
The fair is slated for October 4 to 11 at the UMA showgrounds at Lugogo in Kampala.

“This is one of the innovations we expect at this year’s international trade fair. This is what they did in Rwanda during their recent international trade fair,” Samuel Bagonza, a UMA member, told reporters on Tuesday.

James Kalibala, the UMA chairman, said in addition to the expected new brands, inventions and innovations, there had been an increase in the number of bookings of service companies and institutions.

“This will benefit the manufacturers and the medium-and-small-scale entrepreneurs who are looking for the various service providers,” he said.

Kalibbala disclosed that over 750 participants from Uganda, United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Thailand, Pakistan, China, India, Ethiopia, Singapore and Turkey, were expected.

Taiwan, Egypt, Kenya, Ghana, Tanzania, Nigeria, Germany, Denmark and South Africa, would also be represented, Kalibbala said.
The chairman assured the show goers that there would be ample parking space at the Metro Cash and Carry and at the UMA Conference Hall parking areas.

More parking will be available at the Kampala City Council playgrounds adjacent to the Shoprite shopping mall, Kalibbala added.

Showgoers will have to part with sh3,000 (adults) and sh1,500 (children) to have access to the 15th most popular annual international trade event. The event will be graced by President Yoweri Museveni.
