KAJO-KEJI county in Central Equatoria State of Southern Sudan has received x-ray and ultra-sound machines.
The privately-owned machines will cater for over a million people in the state, the county health officer, Amos Soro, said last Friday.
While inaugurating Genesis Medical Centre in Wudu town, Soro thanked the centre’s proprietor, Samuel Muta, for the facilities, saying they would reduce expenses incurred by patients who had to travel to Uganda for treatment.
Soro said the only referral hospital in the region, Kajo-Keji, lacked an ultra-sound machine, while its x-ray facility was grounded because they lacked a trained radiographer to operate it.
Muta said he bought the machines with aid of medical officers from Uganda after seeing the suffering of his people.
