Clean up this netball mess
EDITOR — One of the reasons netball is almost dead in Uganda is because of bad leadership. You therefore need not ask why this once very popular sport, for instance, today has no sponsors.

In 1996, when Uganda hosted the East and Central Senior Netball Championship, the government contributed sh42m to construct a modern court. But no dressing rooms were built while cracks were already evident before even the competition ended.

If you want to get a feel of the corruption in UNF, look at the selection of the national side that went to South Africa. Many players didn’t qualify legitimately!
Elections are due next week. My prayer is that the respective authorities give us proper accountability. It’s time we rescued our beautiful game.

The fixtures

EDITOR —Let me take this opportunity to request for the publication of the Super League fixtures before the competition kicks-off.
This is the only way soccer fans, especially we upcountry, will know which matches will be played when.
If we can publish Premiership fixtures well before kick-off, what about our own?
