SOCCER - Bukedde trounced Production 5 -0 to maintain their pursuit of The New Vision Inter-departmental soccer title at City High grounds on Saturday.
Defending champions Bukedde took charge of the match right from kick-off as Production failed to mount any challenge. The win puts Bukedde level at nine points with rivals Editorial. Action continues on Saturday with Editorial battling Production and Bukedde taking on Accounts team.

Kayiwa retires
SOCCER - Grade One FUFA referee Abdallah Kayiwa retired after 16 years of active. Speaking to The New Vision, Kayiwa, 36, explained that the decision was prompted by frustration by the appointing authorities. Kayiwa said that on several occasions, his bosses denied him work which ruined his ambitions to get a FIFA badge. “I have already submitted my letter of retirement to the Uganda Football Referees Association (UFRA),” Kayiwa said.

Kawempe polls
SOCCER - FUFA has ordered fresh elections for Kawempe District Football Association (KADIFA) after suspending the executive over acts of mismanagement. FUFA CEO Charles Masembe, said that the federation want the elections to be conducted soon. Masembe said that KADIFA headed by Paul Ssozi had created divisions in the football fraternity in Kawempe following various acts of mismanagement, adding that the trend had to stop.
