ANGRY residents of Kidera sub-county in Kamuli district attacked a herbalist at his home and battered him to death using sticks and stones. Wambi Kibanda, 60, was lynched after the locals suspected him of using sorcery to kill three people.

They are James Bakuze, Ali Isabirye and Gideon Lubba, all from Kidera village. The district Police commander, Frank Abalawuwe, said three people have been arrested in connection with the mob justice.

Sebabi Tezikuba, David Sentongo and Julius Sentongo will soon face prosecution for the crime.

Residents said Wambi and Bakuze developed a misunderstanding last week over a land boundary.

Wambi then allegedly threatened to use his supernatural powers to kill Bakuze. The following morning, Bakuze was found dead.

The locals attacked Wambi and demolished his house and shrines before killing him.

They later poured paraffin on his body and burnt it to ashes.
