Rugby Cranes' Seguya spurs Africa

UGANDAN Rugby Cranes star Robert Seguya led African Leopards to a 17-12 victory over France U-20 in Paris on Wednesday. Seguya, who made a maiden appearance for the African Leopards, was picked to captain the team on arrival in Paris last week. Allan Musoke also featured for the Leopards.

UGANDAN Rugby Cranes star Robert Seguya led African Leopards to a 17-12 victory over France U-20 in Paris on Wednesday. Seguya, who made a maiden appearance for the African Leopards, was picked to captain the team on arrival in Paris last week. Allan Musoke also featured for the Leopards.

The friendly match was played at the Metz Saint Symphorien Stadium.
The Leopards are an invitational side comprising of players from across the continent. The side was formed in 2005 and has since played against South Africa Students and the British Army, whom they defeated last year. Tunisia coach Muhammed Sahraoui is the new coach of the continental team.

Former world champion Springbok Brendan Venter and Frenchman Claude Saurel coached the side in 2006.

The team picked from 36 nations has grappled with the language problem. Players are picked from both English and French speaking countries.
