Soccer legend Pele to visit Uganda

GHANA soccer legend Abedi Ayew Pele will visit Uganda next month courtesy of Stanbic Bank.

GHANA soccer legend Abedi Ayew Pele will visit Uganda next month courtesy of Stanbic Bank.

A top executive of the bank confirmed the Ghanaian’s visit, adding that details will be released soon.

“Pele will be coming to Kampala but I cannot comment further on his visit,” Stanbic public relations manager Daniel Nsibambi revealed.

“We shall release details of the visit at a press conference due later this month.”

Stanbic Bank, sponsors of the Kampala Kids League is organising the trip for the African soccer icon.
Pele will be introduced to KKL programmes during his visit.

Pele is arguably Africa’s most decorated and honoured soccer player ever.

He won the African player of the year award 3 times and the BBC sports person of the year twice.

Pele also got the golden ball award for being the best player at the 1992 African Cup of Nations.

The legend was the “man of the match” in Marseille’s historic European Champions League final win over AC Milan in 1993.
