EDITOR—We would like to clarify on the issue of the Musuga of Toro regarding the article published on October 3 entitled “Clan wants leader sackedâ€.
The present Musuga, prince Charles kamurasi, was appointed by his late brother King Olimi Kaboyo III, not the Babiito as a clan.
So we request the Babiito and their collaborators to be calm and wait until King Oyo Rukidi iv removes him because it was his father who appointed him to the position of Musuga.
Omukama Kaboyo had a reason why he preferred Kamurasi, his younger brother, to all the other babiito. He had trust in him. If he had made the mistake of appointing one of those who claim to be the rightful ones, King Oyo’s life would have been at risk.
The new Omuhikirwa should not at all get involved in wars which do not concern him.
Toothless wars are dangerous. We advise the Omuhikirwa to leave the Babiito alone because some have their own hidden agendas.
He should take our advice seriously.
The Babiito should have told the Omuhikirwa where the authority lies in Toro Kingdom. We are surprised he does not yet know where the power lies and that is why he was left out in the Empango celebrations!
The Musuga had nothing to do with that. Nobody will sit on the Toro throne while Oyo is still alive. We shall defend and protect him.
