IN this age where men too are becoming more concious about their appearances, the issue of pimples is one laborious factor. The intricacies of how they can spread all over the face and make it unfriendly territory are well known by the average guy.

Unlike women who make it seem like the end of the world when they acquire a pimple on their faces, men seldom budge. They often let it take its course until it finally pops on its own. But what exactly is a pimple and how is it caused?

Steve Richley, proprietor of Body Care Center says that whenever skin pores are blocked, often as a result of excessive oils, skin irritations or dead skin cells, a bacteria are trapped inside the skin.

“As the bacteria get trapped inside the pore, it spreads as it looks for an opening, which in due course creates a pimple.

However, before solutions are undertaken, it is prudent to note that pimples can be avoided by regular facial cleaning (at least twice a day). This might seem a little too much for a guy to remember but it is imperative”.

For a guy, washing your face only twice per day, morning and evening is the first trick to avoiding the spread of pimples. “Use only your bare hands to wash your face or use a washcloth that won’t irritate your skin.

Washing itself does not clear breakouts since dirt does not cause pimples, so there is absolutely no need to scrub. But because facial soap doesn’t go so deep into the skin, application of a deep cleanser twice or thrice a week would be appropriate,” Richley explaines.

From any Body Care Center outlet in town, the Garnier deep cleaner (sh11,600), is a splendid choice for men. This is not only because it has a masculine scent but because applying it is also quick and effective.

All one has to do is rub a portion over his hands and smear across the face just like when using soap. Depending on the severity of your pimples, they should be able to clear in a few days.

Likewise, men should also consider anti-flammatory cream because of the teatree oil component that dries out the pimples. “From my experience, a gentle cleansing followed with application of medication is what works best.

For an appropriate spot buster cream, the Yardley’s spot buster (sh5,500) would enable a smoother skin and it clears the pimple from within.”
