Mazongoto going international?

HE has been away for the past few weeks, completing his post- graduate diploma in Leadership and Management at Strathmore University in Kenya, thanks to the Aga Khan Foundation.

That, unfortunately, might also mean that Dr. Hilderman might not attend tomorrow’s PAM Awards where he is a nominee for Song of the Year and is scheduled to perform.

But while that may be a sad story, Hilderman, who skyrocketed to musical fame locally, by his smash hit Double Bed (Mazongoto) this year, has a lot more to smile about.

Apparently, an American international music promoter, Johnny Lirrico, through the Aga Khan Foundation, has taken on the task of promoting the singer internationally.

Lirrico, who first heard Dr Hilderman’s music from Ugandans in the US, has already secured funding for the singer’s next project.

Could this be the beginning of an international career for the 25-year-old Makerere University graduate?
