Welcome back to the world of fragrances. Now that you know about the importance of scents, you should know what perfume to wear at a particular time.

Since we live in the tropics, avoid very strong perfumes during the day because heat increases the intensity of the fragrance.

That is why it is important to wear a light and fresh scent during the day and a stronger one (oriental scents) in the evening when it is colder.

Daytime requires fresh perfumes with fruity or floral base notes. The best perfumes for women are those with floral notes as these are often described as, “feminine, luxurious, rich, sensual, romantic, and sweet.”

Examples of floral fragrances are Pleasures and Beyond Paradise by Estee Lauder, L’Air du Temps by Nina Ricci and Euphoria by Calvin Klein.

For the evening, try Oriental scents. They are heavy and sensual usually containing vanilla, oriental spices (including pepper), wood, musk and some citrus.

Examples are Fendi by Fendi, a spicy oriental scent whose ingredients include amber, musk, vanilla and soft woods. This would be ideal for seduction because musk is said to be very seductive owing to its similarity with natural body musk.

Another great evening perfume is Gloria by Cacharel. It is also great for special occasions. It contains hibiscus, roses and vanilla.
