EDITOR—The censure of Alex Waiswa Mufumbiro as guild president of Uganda christian University a week ago, was followed by an announcement that whoever wanted to be guild president was free to pick nominations forms on October 31. Among those who picked the forms were Bosco okiror, Ongom sabiti and Fred Ochieng.

One of those people served in Waiswa’s government but had problems with the university’s electoral commission. Some candidates were disqualified on unclear grounds by the poorly constituted ‘panel of experts’. why should they disqualify a candidate who has integrity and leave a person who has a bad record in the previous government?

This is double standards. student affairs should be left to the students.
