Bundibugyo Stanbic manager arrested

THE Stanbic Bank Bundibugyo branch manager, Hilda Musinguzi and two special Police constables were yesterday arrested in connection with the robbery of sh1.3b from the bank.

THE Stanbic Bank Bundibugyo branch manager, Hilda Musinguzi and two special Police constables were yesterday arrested in connection with the robbery of sh1.3b from the bank.

Musinguzi was picked from Bundibugyo at around 4:00pm and taken to Fort Portal Police Station, where she recorded a charge-and-caution statement.

The constables were identified as David Baguma and Prosper Byamaka, who were guarding the bank at the time of the robbery.

The regional Police chief, Martin Abilu, said the guards were picked after they regained their consciousness. They had reportedly been drugged by the thugs.
The arrest of the three brings to seven, the number of suspects held by the Police. Abilu said the suspects will appear in court today.
