EDITOR—This is in reference to Aldrine Nsubuga’s article of November 3 ridiculing veteran coach Polly Ouma. I am disappointed and surprised by the way an official of a FUFA which came to power promising transparency can cynically refer to Ouma’s lack of a formal contract with FUFA!
I thought such informal dealings were a preserve of the ‘unenlightened’ Obua-led FUFA! How can the ‘bright’ people of the new FUFA take advantage of the unemployment in Uganda and gloat over using someone without a formal contract? Civilised people will never take pride in conning others!
It was the duty of FUFA to give Ouma and Mayanja contracts and assess them on the basis of their contractual obligations. One cannot fault Ouma for taking up employment with FUFA. He thought he was dealing with gentlemen. If he goes to court, he will not come out empty-handed.
