Richard and Tatiana fight again

CALL it cabin fever if you want, after all, the game is nearing its end. But there might be more than just the finale blues. Richard and Tatiana, better known as Richiana, have fought again.

It sparked off on Tuesday afternoon as the couple watched Ofunneka trim the lawn. Tatiana jokingly called Richard an a**hole. Then an infuriated Richard called her a whore. And before we knew, a hot-up took over the house. Ofunneka tried to mediate, but Richard’s nerve was already too snapped to get wired again.

“All you drunken fairies, better shut it,” Richard assured his lady love, Tatiana and Ofunneka. “Don’t give me this nonsense,” he went on, threatening not to talk to Tatiana again. But Tatiana also could not take it hands down.

“We will keep like this for the whole week,” Tatiana snapped back at the Tanzanian who stormed out, leaving Ofunneka to console the Angolan model.

You could see Tatiana boiling with rage, just that with her Portuguese descent, she just could not find enough words to rub it in Richard’s face, since she is low on English vocabulary. Utterly disappointed, she told Ofunneka she has had enough of Richard’s name-calling and disrespecting her. “See what I mean, Foxy?” said Tatiana to Ofunneka.

And everyone in the show’s forum (www.mnetafrica.co.za/bigbrother) is wishing Tatiana had not given in to sex with this married man, saying he has nothing to lose, especially after using her — the reason he is acting bitchy.

Well, the fighting would not be that surprising, considering that we have known them to fight all the time throughout the three months.

But considering that they had spent at least a month of peaceful romance and then out of the blue, an outburst between them occurs just four days to the finale, there seems to be more than just their usual fights?

This must be another of Richard’s desperate attempts to salvage his marriage to his Canadian wife back home. With just two days to face the real world, the one outside the Big Brother house, where his wife Ricki comes into the picture, this could be a new strategy to show his wife that he has severed relations with Tatiana.

This is mostly so because Tatiana called him names jokingly, which has happened a number of times, yet with more offensive names. But Richard’s retort sounded overly dress-rehearsed, more like an overloaded titanic waiting to hit the iceberg. I would say Richard planned it — no wonder his apology to her later did not in the least sound any genuine.

If only Tatiana could stick to her guns and not reconcile with him till their exit on Sunday, it would help disillusion this Tanzanian male patriarch.

The problem is that Ofunneka is trying to influence Tatiana with her overly Africanised mentality that men rarely say sorry, and that since Richard has said it, Tatiana should take it.

It is just that Tatiana might think Richard could win the staked $100,000 jackpot, and look at distancing herself from him as unviable — so much for opportunism, huh?

Meanwhile, speaking of the jackpot, it could also be Richard’s cause for the bitchy attitude. Maybe he wants to have it to himself if he wins it.
