Dear Jane, thank you for reading and responding to Essence. We ran a detailed story demystifying pap smears on September 1. Visit www.newvision.co.ug/D/9/618/584208 to read it. You may also visit the gynecological department in any major hospital or health centre for further consultation on the issue.

Essence, what medication can I use for blemishes on my face?

Anon

Hi, we talked to Dr. Fred Kambugu, a consultant dermatologist about your concern. He advised that you first of all wait and see if they disappear. According to him, blemishes usually go away without medication if given time. If they do not go away, he advises that you visit a dermatologist who will prescribe the right medication after looking at and diagnosing your skin condition. He cautions against using the cosmetic products that are usually marketed as blemish removers because they are actually hydroquinone products that will bleach your skin.
