UGANDA telecom has launched a new system that allows it to operate and maintain equipment for its customers at a remote location.

“The hosted private branch exchange (PBX) is a technology switch solution designed to help simplify business performance by enabling internal and external communication,” Michael Magambo, the product development manager.

He esaid the solution enables businesses to have multiple offices all using the same infrastructure without physical cabling and extra equipment. It also does not require start-up and maintenance costs.

“The most immediate benefit of the service is the elimination of most capital expenditure. Companies can cut costs because of the reduced staffing requirements and maintenance fees,” Magambo said.

“Data and voice requirements are combined into a single infrastructure and this helps reduce costs by having a single link infrastructure carrying both.”
Hans Paulsen, the chief commercial officer, said, “We appreciate the pressures on business to concentrate on their core business for better productivity.

“With this solution, we take away many costs to business and ensure that companies operate efficiently.”
