STANBIC Bank football ambassador Abedi Pele believes kids playing in the Kampala Kids League have great potential to become future soccer stars for Uganda.

“I have seen great potential in the players who played in the game between SOS and the KKL. you all have the ability to be great talents,” Pele said after carrying out ball skills sessions with the kids.
“You all have to go to school, work hard and combine the two to become successful.”

The Ghanaian soccer legend was on hand to crown various champions in the 15th Stanbic Bank sponsored Kampala Kids League.

Pele was on tour of Uganda courtesy of Standard Bank, an Africa Cup of Nations partner.

“It gives me an honour to be with you children and your families. I would like to thank your parents for bringing you here to play football as you are the future of this nation,” Pele said.

“I also thank Stanbic Bank for investing in the youth like you as you are going to be the driving force of football in this country.

TKL won the juniors division while Nissan, walked away with the mids division.

Unicef scooped the girls division, topscoring Mitsubishi Diamonds won the seniors division and Roofings wrapped up the super seniors category.

Pele flew out yesterday to Namibia and Angola where he is promoting the continental football tournament that will be held in his native country in January next year. He will later travel to Libya.
