The Apac district chairperson, Nicholas Opio-Bunga, has reshuffled the district executive committee, appointing Bobe Okae as vice-chairperson.

Okae, who replaced Betty Nam, also takes up the position of secretary for education and health.

The Ayer and Aboke councillor, Lucy Ongom, was appointed secretary for production, while Robert Oming-Ajuru retained the finance and administration portfolio.
Opio-Bunga announced the changes in a council meeting at Scouts Hall recently.

“With this arrangement, we hope to end the discontent over some of my earlier appointments,” Bunga said.

His earlier choice for the district vice-chairperson post, Oming-Ajuru, had been rejected by the council on grounds that he lacked sufficient academic qualifications.
Bunga said he consulted NRM and UPC party leaders over the reshuffle to avoid rifts.

Appointments in the district had failed to be approved over party differences among councillors.
“I pray that we, from today onwards, bury our party differences and quarrels and concentrate on development.”
