New Academy opens up<br>American trained coach Ivan Kakembo has opened a new football academy, the Uganda Youth Soccer Programme in Kampala. The academy is providing professional coaching to youths between the ages of 3-14 to the standard of fellow youths in Europe and America.

American trained coach Ivan Kakembo has opened a new football academy, the Uganda Youth Soccer Programme in Kampala. The academy is providing professional coaching to youths between the ages of 3-14 to the standard of fellow youths in Europe and America. He holds a 2004 American Coaches Soccer Organisation license, specifically for handling youths and has coached Kibuli U-14, Uganda Junior League and Proline Academy. He has also been attached to other academies in USA, Denmark and Sweden.

New team in
Outgoing Uganda Netball Federation officials on Wednesday handed over all the office files and documents to the new executive, including a bank balance of sh1.3m. The function presided over by Council board member Badru Sabila, saw the outgoing executive, led by former chairman Lydia Bukenya promise to help and also advise the new executive for the good of the game. They also handed over three sets of national team’s uniforms, general files, financial documents among others.

G4 offers prizes
Lucky football fans in Gulu won numerous prizes as the Fans for Premiership Club- G4 and Barclays Bank went upcountry. Fans were asked to predict the right score in the Liverpool vs Fulham match, which ended 2-0. They won goodies that included T-shirts, caps bags and umbrellas.“This is part of of spreading the love for the local game alongside the popular Premiership,” said the bank’s Gulu branch manager Henry Obwoya.
