THE account of soccer-governing body FUFA at bankers dfcu, has been frozen by Mengo Court over a sh2.6m debt dispute. The account has sh300m on it.

A big chunk of the money came from GTV and was earmarked for Super Division league clubs. Only about 10 of the 18 clubs had got their first quarter, sh8.7m allocation.

FUFA vice president for finance Jowali Kyeyago confirmed the development, saying Sunshine Tours and Travel Company is demanding payment of sh2.6m for services offered to the former FUFA executive in 1995.

“We will be forced to use our own money which is frustrating,” Kyeyago explained.

Sunshine Tours is represented by city lawyer Richard Omongole who said the debt was initially sh0.9m but has accumulated due to interest rates and court charges

“The account can only be freed when they pay us,” insisted Omongole.
