STANBIC Bank has launched Internet banking which is expected to reduce queues in the banking halls.
Philip Odera, the managing director, explained that the development was part of efforts to offer world-class services.
“We believe Internet banking will also help in decongesting our banking halls as many of our customers will transact business from the comfort of their homes and offices,†Odera said.
He said with the new service, customers can make balance enquiries, view and download statements, conduct account transfers and effect third party payments like utility bills and notifications.
They can also make queries related to transactions on their accounts and stop cheques.
The customers will be required to make a one-time payment of sh5,000 to sign onto the facility.
Odera explained that the system was secure but warned customers to keep safe their personal identification numbers.
Stanbic has the largest clientele base and the biggest branch network across the country.
