AFTER a short stint at MTN where he moved as brand manager late last year, Chris Ireland called it quits soon after Big Brother Africa, his last assignment, came to an end.

On Wednesday evening, Nile Breweries, together with Ireland’s friends like lawyer Oscar Kihika, converged at Club Obliggatto to see him off yet again, this time not to another job but to Melbourne, Australia, where, he admits, he wants to get into private work and settle forever.

Chris Ireland shot into the spotlight as one of the first presenters on Sanyu FM, the first FM radio station in Uganda. He moved to Nile Breweries where he worked as brand manager. He later quit to set up and run Alleygators, the first bowling alley at Garden City, which he co-owned with Ronnie Madhivani, before joining MTN.
