TRUE African has been named the top ICT SMME in Africa. This was during the ninth annual African ICT Achievers Awards at the Sandton Convention Centre, Johannesburg, South Africa,recently.
The coveted award, initiated seven years ago to stimulate exclusively the black ICT industry, has since opened up to the entire African continent and across the racial divide.
The awards recognise top individuals and organisations contribution to the development of ICTs across Africa, increased service delivery through ICT and created a better understanding of the use of technology to the benefit of all Africans.
“True African has creatively integrated SMS-based application with the everyday lives of its customers via products like Simba shop, outstanding parking bills, water bill notifications and SMS banking, effectively adding value to the live of its consumers,†Ophelia Nabeta, the marketing manager, explained in a statement.
