EDITOR—Bosire Mosi’s letter of May 21 reads like a deep personal attack on Raila Odinga in particular and the Luo in general. Statements like “their simple imagination”, “tribal chief” and Odinga “not being known for intellectual brilliance and diplomacy” leave one wondering whether his defence of President Museveni is genuine or whether the row over the President’s remarks simply provided him with a perfect excuse to spew his deep-seated anti-Luo sentiments.

Three questions for Bosire: Whether or not Museveni made those ‘mad Luo’ remarks, if you heard that such remarks were made about your tribe would you react differently?

Are you suggesting that the more than three million Kenyans (many of them non-Luo) that voted for Raila Odinga in December 2007 are somehow deluded? Finally, does it occur to you that another Luo in the name of Barack Obama is now President of the United States of America and that he is beating peace and not war drums? In thanking God that the Kenya election was stolen, Bosire helped me understand why Africa still has a long way to go.

Until people like him realise that democracy should be allowed to flourish whether or not we like who is winning, we shall continue to mindlessly and shamelessly ‘thank God’
for stolen elections!

EDITOR—I wish to comment on Bosire Mosi’s letter, “Thank God Kibaki stole the election” published on May 21. Bosire seems to have a vendetta against Odinga!
