“Body shapers are easy to wear and can instantly slim, flatten and enhance most areas of the body including the stomach, waist, hips, thighs and buttocks,†says Sarah Finn, an expert in lingerie and a beautician in Kampala.
She says they are the safest way to take all those extra inches in important places of the body. “They come in two types; those used like knickers to cover up the tummy area to get rid of that flesh and those used like bickers to get rid of big hips and thighs,†she adds.
She says any favourite outfit can be worn comfortably and confidently all day with a body shaper in place. They are worn beneath any type of clothing, ranging from body tight fashions, to loose and baggy styles.
Women can enjoy an hourglass figure while letting out their breath and eating comfortably. They also make a woman appear slimmer.
Brendah Maraka, an international designer, says body shapers help women get rid of unwanted flesh on their bodies.
They can also be used on emergency functions like weddings where the bride has no time to work out that big belly. The bride can use a body shaper to fit in her gown.
“Body shapers are made of strong material like lyora, nylon, spandex and silicone. They all have no visible seams showing through,†says Maraka.
These body shapers come in light, medium, firm or extra firm control to accelerate weight loss instantly. They also come in various colours and you will be spoilt of choice.
Body shapers exhibit firm control by an inner firming panel. There is also a lining in the garment that provides silky smoothness against the skin.
Maraka says it is better to have two sets of body shapers for regular use and this will enable the user wear a fresh and clean garment as the other one goes for washing.
However a user has to know the size and measuring tips before buying. One should also be careful while washing.
They can be hand washed or machine washed with warm water. Bleaching is not allowed. Further more the body shaper should neither be machine dried nor ironed.
