Storm the target of your love

When journalists asked Ferguson of Man U whether he would sell Christiano Ronaldo to Real Madrid of Spain, he replied, pretty much like a ghetto person, (and I quote) I wouldn’t even sell them a virus! (end of quote).

And there was evening and there was morning – the third day Gen 1:13. Real’s president Florentino perez called Man U CEO David Gill and placed 80 million pounds on the table. Within 15 minutes, the deal was as good as done with both Man U and Real claiming victory.

I have seen many youths lamenting that the girl of their dreams has sworn to rather marry a hot tempered crocodile if it was brought as an alternative. They then invest all their remaining energies reminiscing how unlucky they were born, as if they are Arsenal FC.

Look at the Real-Man U deal. That first ‘No’ should never be taken as a dead end. Many times it means that in the current situation, you can’t even be sold a virus. But what if the situation changes? So, don’t just stand there waiting for the situation to change.

Don’t even plead for compassion – love is not a charity gift. Go forth and change the situation. If you think it is your appearance, change it, if it is your worth, improve it, if it is a variable you can’t change (like age, tribe, nose size, disability), look for a blinding reflection.

A blinding reflection is an attraction that will outshine the disadvantaging variable. I know a rich guy in town who was born those days when dinosaurs were still roving the earth. He married the beauty of the land by placing on the table a land title, house, car, and managerial job. Only Jesus could resist the offer and that is because He has more. We must deserve what we love under a conducive atmosphere.

And if this guy wants you for keeps, saying ‘yes’ may hasten your change of marital status. But have you really considered the alternative of beginning with a ‘no’ to see if the suitor can improve his worth and your value? If Man U had agreed to the initial offer, Ronaldo would have gone for much less. But some resistance and a few swear words later, the value became too good to be true.

Remember, men have a natural hunting instinct. Their excitement is triggered by the running prey. They can chase after the animal, jumping over shrubs, tearing through thorny twigs, knocking over stones and shouting themselves hoarse in the process.

By the end of the hunt, you will know your man’s fighting competence, determination and feel your worth. But if you just lie prostrate at his feet as soon as he has asked, you will suffocate his hunting instinct, which is still likely to burst through after you are married. But this time, on someone else, your rival; ask Haj Rukutana.

Finally, in military science, battles are won by ability to deploy suddenly, massively and decisively, just like Perez did for Ronaldo. If you want love, don’t go it easy, beating about the bush and taking it piece meal.

Don’t coo if you can roar. Ignore the discouraging words about not selling you viruses, get your act together and advance. Storm the target, overwhelm the resistance and leave them nodding speechlessly. When you get home and dry, give me a call, I might accept your beer.
