KAMPALA-Former head teacher of Budo Junior School was on Monday released on bail.
William Kayongo’s sureties, Festo Jahangi, Iga Francis and Ali Kimera, were bonded for sh10m not cash. He had been charged with obtaining a land title by false pretence and granted bail before the Director of Public Prosecution amended the charge sheet to include forgery and uttering a false document.

Residents ask for safe water
MITYANA-Residents of Misimba and Kakubansiri villages in Maanyi sub-county have appealed to the Government to resolve the water scarcity in their areas. They said about 100 families shared a well with their animals. George Ssentongo, a village official, said all the boreholes had broken down.

Bishop warns on sacrifice
MUKONO-Lugazi Diocesan Bishop Matthias Ssekamanya has asked Christians to lead the fight against human sacrifice by reporting those they suspect to be involved in the evil. “Human sacrifice is on the increase because Christians are doing nothing to help,” Ssekamanya said in remarks on Sunday while presiding over mass at St. Paul’s Church in Mukono town.
