SOCCER - Fred Ssendagire notched a brace as Nvuma came from a goal down to beat Mmamba 2-1 in the ongoing Bika soccer tournament at Nakivubo yesterday. Brian Bwete had put Mmamba in the lead but Ssendagire equalised before striking the winner.

Coaches get Olympic talk
OLYMPICS - Over 100 Ugandan coaches started a four-day training programme in Special Olympics and physical care at the Mandela National Stadium, Namboole. The training is conducted by the coaches’ chairman Gerald Mayanja who underlined a desire to have trained coaches and healthy people through games and sport.
Special Olympics is a version of Olympic games for people with learning difficulties and physical disabilities.

Jinja teams lack foot balls

SOCCER - Jinja district competitions committee chairman Fred Kiwanda has asked FUFA president Lawrence Mulindwa to equip Jinja’s soccer league with balls before the new season kicks off. “Foot balls are lacking ever since I took over yet the league is growing at a fast rate and this is where the FUFA president can come in to assist us,” said Kiwanda.
